OMG Nails 101: Treat your way to Happy Feet

Our feet are probably the most neglected yet the most abused part of our body. It’s time to rekindle our relationship with them and treat them well with these D-I-Y foot spa tips brought to you by OMG Nails Foot Spa Tools and Accessories. Do your own foot spa package at the comforts of your own home. Whether you want a girl's night and do your own spa bonding with your girl friends, or just even alone, while you indulge yourself to a day of pamper, take care of your feet the way it should be really taken care of. Let’s get started!

1)      FOOT SOAK

First things first! Relax sore and exhausted feet in lukewarm water or your choice of foot soak for 10-15 minutes. This will help to loosen up your sore muscles and soften your skin in the process.  You can make a saline solution by adding a cup of salt to boiling water and letting it cool until it’s nice and lukewarm for your feet. It will help in preventing any infection and common nails and skin issues such as ingrown nails, calluses etc. from coming back again. You can also add scented oils suited for your type of skin in your scented bubble bath. Starting off with clean and moisturized skin will provide better results with this foot spa treatment.

It’s time to scrub the dead skin cells away! After a good soak, your skin is now ready for exfoliation. Apply a generous amount of foot scrub on your palm and dab it on your legs and feet. Focus on the heels and toes which are prone to cracks and calluses. Use a pumice stone or a foot file to scrub rough skin on your feet. If your feet do not quite feel smooth on the sides, use a hand held foot rubber with a rough surface. Dry your feet afterwards using a clean, soft towel.

3)      MASSAGE

Once your feet are rubbed off the dead skin cells, your skin is in dire need of moisture. Using a foot cream, lotion or rich balm, gently massage your feet and legs. Take this time to notice any bumps or cracks and focus on that area.

For the grand finale, it’s time to focus on your nails. Remove if there’s any dirt under your toenails using the proper tools(see below for references). Clip nails to a medium length and straight across. We don’t want any ingrown nails wouldn’t we? (See more on ingrown nails here)

Your cuticles are also soft and manageable so you may want to push them back. And there you have it, just apply your favorite polish and hello happy fabulous feet!
